Applied Ethics · Chapter 8
The Autonomy Console
Beauchamp and Childress define an autonomous choice, not an autonomous person: it must be intentional, made with understanding, and voluntary. Only the first is all-or-nothing. Pick a case, then spend clinical moves on it — and watch which moves build a real choice, which change nothing, and which quietly destroy one.
