Five Children, One Nurse

Blood and marrow illnesses in childhood are quiet until they are not, and the nursing skill is deciding who is seen first. Rank five children on a shift, then calculate an absolute neutrophil count and apply the fever rule, work out an intramuscular epinephrine dose for a real weight, and match the bleeding and marrow problems to the action that changes their outcome.
