Antiparasitics: Where They Hide, What You Watch

Parasites are eukaryotes, like us — so these drugs work by exploiting small differences, and the margin between killing the parasite and harming the patient is thin. Two things decide the whole plan of care: where the parasite is hiding, and what you must check before and during the dose. Pick a drug — or tap a body site — and watch the nursing grid light up.

The nursing watch

Nine things nurses check with antiparasitics. Choose a drug — the squares that matter light up. Red means it is a safety stop, not a routine check.
