The Four-Second Read

Your reader has ninety unread messages and eleven minutes until a meeting. They will give this email about four seconds before deciding to act, defer, or forget. Reorder the seven sentences below and watch, live, how much of your message actually lands — then run the scan and see which sentences the reader never reached.

The message · drag order with the arrows

Same seven sentences, same facts. Only the order changes. Move the sentence that carries the ask to where the eye already is.
Keyboard: tab to a sentence’s arrows and press Enter. ⇧ sends a sentence straight to the top.

What the reader actually got

First four seconds · about 45 words
0message power · how much value survives the scan

Where the attention goes

Eyes land hardest on the first line and the left edge, then fall away fast. This is the share of attention each slot in your message receives — not the share you wish it received.
