Spine and Holistic Health · Module 1 · The spine in three dimensions

Spine Lab

Turn, take apart and bend a three dimensional spine while live graphs respond; name regions and parts from randomized drawings; sort the big ideas; and reason through clinic scenarios. Nothing here is graded.

Part 1: Spine Explorer

Drag the picture or use the Turn slider to rotate it. Stretched ligaments turn thick and red; slack ones turn wavy.

MeasureValue

A teaching model with rounded sizes and angles. Each segment bends by a share of its typical range, with the pelvis held still. Ligament stretch is the change in distance between attachment points, so it is approximate. The disc nucleus shift is exaggerated about three times so you can see it. Real spines vary a lot between people.
